My intention was to evoke contemplation within the piece itself. I aimed for viewers to sense the discomfort of peering into the depths of this creation, as if bearing witness to something forbidden. In the realm of medicine, many individuals are self-conscious about their health and physical appearance, yet when stripped down, we are all the same flesh. It can be a deeply freeing experience to recognize this. My piece, "Visceral Voyeurism," is designed to prompt contemplation regarding intruding upon something deeply personal, yet being unable to avert one's gaze, or even desiring to delve deeper. I intended for this piece to underscore our relationship with medical practices and how we, as humans, are estranged from our own bodies.
